Lucien Cujean competed in his first race at the age of eight years old and has been competing on the water ever since.

He started his career in 2008 with Foncia and says that the highlight of his career so far was winning the Tour de France in 2012 with CER. He has won six national titles, created the Swiss team for inaugural Red Bull Youth America’s Cup, where they finished fourth and has represented Switzerland in the Rio and Tokyo Olympics.

At Alinghi Red Bull Racing Lucien believes his role is to: “Deliver my best, listen to the team, imagine, be creative and perform.” He adds that being part of the team is: “A dream come true and the newest chapter in his career. The best part about my job is earning and testing new ideas, giving feedback and optimising to be efficient and fast!”

Off the water, Lucien enjoys architecture, surfing, skiing, music and scuba diving and says his hero is Roger Federer, he also admits that he gets grumpy if he misses breakfast.
