ESS Act1 in Oman - Day 1

Today was the first day of the first Act of the 2016 Extreme Sailing Series and the first outing for the foiling GC32s in this Championship. The venue, the historic old town of Muscat, Oman. Amid fine weather and wind conditions that saw the fleet able to get up onto their foils, Alinghi recorded finishes of 7th, 6th, 2nd, 5th, 6th and 4th over the six races. After the first day Oman Air, followed by SAP Racing are leading the way, with Alinghi in sixth position.

However, there is much to play for, with three days of racing to come. The fleet will now move to the Open Water race course in front of the Almouj golf course, with some 20 races potentially to come.
